So, we told you that we won’t give up. Some exciting people have decided to back us up and help keep the fire alive and burning. Something awesome is going to happen soon. Keep watching.
We turn 2 today, but it’s a sad day…
Birthdays are supposed to be loads of moments of happiness put together. Although I am happy we’ve turned 2 today but still there is a very sad part to it.
Sad part is that we have to pull the plug on TheTechPanda. All those who’ve been following us closely would know that Saraswathi is taking some time off for family and I have been caught up with a lot of work as part of my full-time studies at SPJIMR. We’ve tried real hard to keep things going for as long as we could but we made up our mind that we’d either do this the best way or not do it at all.
We’ve had a great run.
TTP was started with the purpose of providing start-ups the kind of attention they deserve. We know how difficult it is to startup and startup founders have always been heroes for us. In the last two years, we’ve tried our best never to deny anyone a feature because we feel everyone is important. Who are we to decide what will work and what not. Everyone is trying hard and it’s our job to do our bit. And hopefully we’ve been successful in doing that.
In the past two years, we’ve profiled over 500 startups, that’s almost one startup a day. Considering our constraints, I think we did a decent job. We’ve tried our best to stay around and help build and support the ecosystem. We’ve had our moments of joy and moments of sorrow. We experienced joy when you achieved success. We felt sad when someone left us. But at the end of the day, it is you guys who’ve kept us going so far.
The mails that you sent stating how we helped you grow your business and take it to next levels, how we helped you get your first orders, how we helped you gain the spotlight, all that and more motivated us to keep working hard. We love start-ups and nothing can take that away.
In the last two years, we’ve climbed charts, featured among the Top 100 startups in India, featured on Alexa’s top 50,000 sites globally and top 5,000 in India. We’ve had the opportunity to work with events like the TechCrunch Bangalore, mBillionth Awards, Lean Startup Machine, Startup Saturday, LSM Bangalore, eChai, GBG Mumbai, and many more. We’ve got great support from TiE, NEN, Headstart Network, Bangalore Startups, and others. VCs, investors and mentors like Alok Rodinhood Kejriwal, Ravi Gururaj, Mukund Mohan, Vijay Anand and many others gave us their time while we were still pretty young.
Most of all, we’ve seen a surge in the number of visitors who’ve loved us, critiqued us and then loved us some more. We’ve had regular visitors from over 40 countries which definitely makes us feel proud. Without you guys, this really would not have been possible. Thank you for showing all the love. We are happy to know that we could make some small positive impact to your lives.
Lastly, team TTP who’ve managed it all, seen the ups and downs and have still worked hard – writers, designers, interns and guest contributors. Each one of you is responsible for the glorious days we’ve seen.
So, what next?
Well, we’re entrepreneurs ourselves. So, it’s obvious we won’t give up. We’re working out some plans of partnerships/sale among other things. One thing is for sure, we’re definitely heading to something bigger and better, in fact, awesomer.
All posts on TTP stay as they are. We’d be happy to know that you guys still pose your TTP badge on your website’s press coverage page. All the startup interviews that are still pending, don’t worry, we’ll get it all done this month. Naturally, we won’t be accepting new startup submissions till we figure out the steps ahead.
Till you hear from us again,
Best wishes to everyone.
On behalf of team TTP
