jabong-better-or-myntra

I am a regular online shopper but I have mostly kept my online shopping restricted to gadgets and electronics. The only place I used to buy t-shirts online is Inkfruit and I absolutely loved it till it got acquired by Zovi.

Recently, I decided to try my hands on Jabong and Myntra. I recently ordered a few t-shirts from Jabong and when I received it I realized I had a size issue. If you are a regular online shopper, I am sure you understand this. You order a particular item lets say an apparel of a particular size that fits you. But when it arrives, the fit is not upto your liking. You either need a bigger or smaller size.

Now here’s what I had to do. I called up the customer support, placed a return request. One of their executives came to pick it up after a day or so and I was told in the next 7-10 days the return process would be completed after which I can use the Jabong credits provided to me for the return to order new products. Simply stated, the process takes close to 2 weeks.

I don’t say they have a bad service, in fact, Jabong did a really nice job with the delivery and logistics. But this is where Myntra steals the show.

Myntra, one of the leading apparel shopping site in India, is the first online shopping site to have launched a “product exchange feature” which exactly takes care of this problem.

When you shop with Myntra and face a similar issue, this is what happens. You call up Myntra customer support and raise a request for a size-mismatch. They’ll place a replacement order for you. The logistic team will deliver the new item in whatever size you have requested and take back the old one in a single, hassle-free process. I just loved it!

The product exchange facility is available across top 15 cities in India and the validity period for product exchange is 30 days from the date of purchase.

Recently Myntra also acquired  Fitiquette, a virtual fitting room technology company, was founded by  ex Cisco employees Andy Pandharikar & Anant Kumar. They have developed a technology that would allow fashion customers to try on outfits in a virtual 3-D world based on the user’s exact body dimensions.

The technology developed by Fitiquette generates a virtual mannequin based on various body types to which users can further adjust each specific measurement according to their body until it closely mirrors their own.

Myntra is definitely trying to be a game changer. Do share your online shopping experiences as well.
